Jordania, reina en un Sanremo que se queda sin su príncipe
italiano
El también conocido por los italianos como "príncipe-bailarín"
por su participación en el concurso de baile televisivo
"Ballando con le stelle" ("Bailando con las estrellas"), no
puede este miércoles compartir escenario con la reina jordana,
que llega como invitada especial al certamen de la popular
localidad costera del extremo noroccidental de Italia.
Tras el paso por el Teatro Ariston de la cantante británica
Susan Boyle ayer, Rania de Jordania y la actriz estadounidense
de ascendencia dominicana Michelle Rodríguez, protagonista del
filme "Avatar", aportan hoy su dosis de "glamour" a una cita
musical en la que este año las canciones participantes quedan en
un segundo plano.
Las bailarinas del "Moulin Rouge" parisino son además otro de
los grandes atractivos para una segunda jornada de música en la
que sólo quedan en la competición de la máxima categoría doce de
los quince temas, y que parte con dos cantantes como máximos
favoritos: Marco Mengoni y Valerio Scanu, ambos salidos de
concursos televisivos de nuevos talentos musicales.
Una de las tres canciones eliminadas a la primera de cambio es
"Italia, amore mio" ("Italia, amor mío"), tema que proponía el
príncipe Manuel Filiberto junto al tenor italiano Luca Canonici
y el músico Pupo, con una puesta en escena sobria pero muy
sentida que fue contestada por parte del público de Sanremo.
La actuación del trío fue la más polémica de la primera noche,
no ya sólo por la presencia del controvertido y mediático nieto
del último rey de Italia, Humberto II, sino también por el
contenido de la letra de su tema, en el que habla de su infancia,
cuando deseaba, desde el exilio, abrazar a ese país al que no
podía entrar a pesar de "no haber hecho nada".
La letra es una clara alusión al amor que Manuel Filiberto dice
profesar por Italia, país al que pudo regresar en 2002 después
de que el Parlamento eliminara el artículo de la Constitución de
1948 que prohibía pisar territorio italiano a los varones de la
familia Saboya, tras el referéndum de 1946 en el que se proclamó
la República y les obligó al exilio.
Su actuación, que no contó con el beneplácito del jurado del
Festival, fue además contestada con abucheos y algún silbido, lo
que hacía ya presagiar que la canción del príncipe no pasaría el
primer corte, aunque aún puede volver a entrar en concurso, pues
el viernes habrá una repesca de dos temas.
Otra de las sorpresas de la primera noche fue la eliminación de
Toto Cutugno, una de las históricas voces italianas y ganador
del Festival de Eurovisión de 1990 en Zagreb, y que en esta
ocasión participaba con el tema "Aeroplani" ("Aeroplanos").
En unas declaraciones recogidas por los medios de comunicación,
Cutugno expresó hoy su malestar por la eliminación: "Me he
quedado mal, sería hipocresía decir lo contrario. Pero me lo he
tomado con dignidad y he deseado lo mejor los chicos", dijo.
En su primera gala, Sanremo logró un gran éxito de audiencia,
con un 45,29 por ciento del "share", en una noche en la que
competía con el encuentro de Liga de Campeones entre Milán y
Manchester United.

entblättert sich in Sanremo
Sanremo (dpa) - Dita Von Teese sorgte mit ihrer berühmten
Martini-Glas-Nummer in Italien wieder einmal für Aufsehen.
Beim 60. Sanremo-Musikfestival ließ die Burlesque-Tänzerin am
Dienstagabend die Hüllen fallen und räkelte sich zum Höhepunkt
ihres Auftritts verführerisch und fast nackt in einem riesigen
Martini-Glas mit einer künstlichen Olive als Badeschwamm. «Das
hat Spaß gemacht», twitterte sie nach ihrer Show im Ariston
Theater. «Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass es ein Skandal war,
aber ich mache nur meinen Job.»
Schließlich bedankte sich die 37-Jährige Nacktänzerin noch ganz
artig: «Grazie für die vielen lieben Worte für meine heutige
Show! X», twitterte sie.

Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano bared his
soul last night as he made a guest appearance at the Sanremo
Music Festival and admitted he has lost hope of making the Italy
squad for the World Cup finals this summer.
Nazionale manager Marcello Lippi has strenuously resisted calls
to bring in Cassano over the past two years despite the ex-Roma
and Real Madrid man recapturing his best form at Marassi.
Cassano looks set to marry his girlfriend Carolina Marcialis in
June instead of travelling to South Africa, and told host
Antonella Clerici when asked to dedicate a song to Lippi: “I’d
beat him up rather than sing him a song! I don’t even remember
when I last played for the Nazionale. It feels like it’s been 20
years.
“I am in love with my country and want to wear the Azzurro. Even
though I will not go to the World Cup, I’ll still be rooting for
the Nazionale. I love that shirt.
“Every coach says that I’m a good lad and they like me. They all
want me, but no-one takes me. Perhaps they are scared of me, but
I really am a nice lad…”

Lancé hier, le 60ème festival de la chanson
de San Remo accueillera jusqu'à samedi de nombreuses
personnalités, dont l'actrice et chanteuse Jennifer Lopez ou la
reine Rania de Jordanie.
Le festival, qui attire chaque année des millions de
téléspectateurs pendant cinq jours, a débuté avec plusieurs
chanteurs italiens dont, pour la première fois, le prince
Emmanuel-Philibert de Savoie, descendant de la Maison royale
italienne.
Le joueur de football, le célèbre attaquant italien Antonio
Cassano était également présent à la première soirée, tout comme
la chanteuse écossaise Susan Boyle, devenue une star planétaire
grâce à une émission de télé réalité.
L'artiste Dita Von Teese a elle livré un numéro de striptease
dont elle a le secret.
Jennifer Lopez attendue
Parmi les autres stars et personnalités attendues au festival de
la chanson, organisé par la radio-télévision publique italienne
Rai, figurent Jennifer Lopez, la reine Rania de Jordanie ou 16
danseuses du Moulin Rouge.
Le festival de San Remo a lancé les chanteurs italiens les plus
connus comme Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini ou Eros Ramazzotti ou
des chansons qui ont marqué une époque, comme «Volare»,
interprété en 1966 par Domenico Modugno.
Il a également accueilli dans un passé récent des hommes
politiques célèbres tels l'ancien dirigeant soviétique Mikhaïl
Gorbatchev en 1999.
Organisé en deux sections, la première réservée à 14 chanteurs
en lice et la deuxième, intitulée «San Remo nouvelle
génération», comprenant huit chanteurs, le festival se déroule à
travers un système d'éliminations qui donne le vainqueur de la
section jeune vendredi soir, et le vainqueur «officiel» samedi
soir.

Sanremo festival turns 60!

A singing prince, a song on euthanasia and a
guest performance by Susan Boyle are some of the components of
the 60th edition of the Sanremo festival. Hosted by Antonella
Clerici, the five-day festival which kicks off today promises to
be a "super" edition, with many young artistes, memorable
performances, a glamorous stage, a 60-strong orchestra and very
important guests!
As in previous years, the prestigious festival is divided into
two categories: established and new artistes. Taking part in the
main competition are 15 artistes, some of whom are relatively
new to the Italian music scene. The latter include Marco Mengoni,
fresh from winning this year's edition of the Italian version of
X Factor; Noemi, who took part in last year's edition of the
same reality show, and gained quite a success on the Italian
charts; and Valerio Scanu, who placed second in last year's
talent show Amici (the latter's song was written by one of the
current participants of the same TV programme - Pierdavide
Carone).
Past winners of the newcomers' category are trying their luck as
established artistes. These are last's year winner, the peculiar
Arisa, who is sporting a clown-ish look and will be accompanied
by a trio of drag queens; young rock band Sonohra, who won the
category two years ago; and Fabrizio Moro, who won the same
title in 2007 and went on to place third in the established
artistes' category the following year. Malika Ayane, who
exploded on the music scene after her participation as a new
artiste last year, has also made it to the main competition.
Then there are Zucchero's daughter, Irene Fornacciari, who will
be accompanied by legendary band I Nomadi; the explosive Irene
Grandi and Simone Cristicchi, who won the festival in 2007 with
Ti regalerò una rosa.
Veteran artistes include Toto Cutugno, who won the festival in
1980 with Solo noi and is participating for the 15th time;
Neapolitan icon Nino D'Angelo, who will be singing in his
hometown's dialect; and Enrico Ruggeri, twice winner of the
festival - in 1987 with Si può dare di piu (together with Gianni
Morandi and Umberto Tozzi) and in 1993 with Mistero.
Making his debut in the festival - and as a singer - is Prince
Emanuele Filiberto of Savoia who is presenting an ode to Italy
aptly titled Italia amore mio (Italy my love) together with Pupo
and tenor Luca Canonici.
Povia, who won the festival in 2006 with Vorrei avere il becco
and placed second last year with the song Luca era gay, returns
with another controversial song. Entitled La verità (The truth),
it is inspired by the story of Eluana Englaro, who was at the
centre of a national debate on euthanasia. Eluana was left in a
vegetative state after a car accident in 1992, at the age of 21.
After 17 years in coma, her father last year won a legal battle
to have her removed from life support, insisting it was what she
would have wanted.
Speaking of controversies, Sanremo is never shorn of them...This
year, the festival has already been the subject of a number of
squabbles. The artistes in the main competition should have been
16 but ended up one less after Marco Castoldi, aka Morgan,
admitted in an interview early this month that he takes cocaine
regularly as an antidepressant. RAI immediately chopped him off
the festival, but later - after causing a hullabaloo on the
Italian media - decided to let him present his song as an
out-of-competition entry.
The 10 emerging artistes or nuova generazione (new generation)
include only two females - Nina Zilli, who had a discreet
success last summer with her retro-style song 50 mila (50
thousand) and 15-year-old Jessica Brando. Among the male
contenders are Tony Maiello, who had participated in the first
edition of the Italian X-Factor; an indie pop band called La
fame di Camilla (whose name was inspired by philosopher Ludwig
Feuerbach's concept that "a man is what he eats"); and a guy who
claims he's very romantic and goes by the stage name Romeus. The
winner of this category will be proclaimed on Friday, eve of the
final.
Being the 60th anniversary, Thursday's theme is "Quando la
musica diventa leggenda" (When the music became legend). This
evening will see big names in the Italian music industry
interpreting popular songs from Sanremo's history. These are
Elisa, Carmen Consoli, Miguel Bosé, Edoardo Bennato, Riccardo
Cocciante, Massimo Ranieri and Francesco Renga.
Friday night is duet night. Among the highlights are Povia who
is duetting with Marco Masini; Prince Emanuele Filiberto & co.
who are performing with none other than the coach of the Italian
national football team, Marcello Lippi; and Valerio Scanu who
will be interpreting his song with Alessandra Amoroso, who last
year beat him in Amici and won the show.
Sanremo is renowned for inviting some of the most popular
celebrities of the moment, and this year is no exception. Guests
include Susan Boyle who became an instant, international star
after her participation in last year's Britain's Got Talent;
Queen Rania of Jordan, considered by some to be one of the
world's most powerful women; US actress Michelle Rodriguez of
Lost fame who recently starred in Avatar; German band Tokio
Hotel and French DJ Bob Sinclair. There will also be a
performance by the dancers of Paris's infamous club Moulin Rouge
and on Saturday, a number of dancers from Michael Jackson's This
Is It Tour are expected to pay a tribute to the late King of
Pop.

60 Jahre San-Remo-Festival
Pendant 5 soirées à partir du 16 février, San
Remo écoute les nouveaux chanteurs italiens, peut-être la
nouvelle star de l’été prochain. La mort du festival de San Remo
est régulièrement annoncée. Il garde pourtant la faveur du
public, aussi bien dans la station balnéaire elle-même qu’à la
télévision.
La manifestation a commencé dans les années 50 et n’était au
départ qu’une animation de casino dans cette station balnéaire
bien tranquille de la côte ligure. Au fil des décennies, le
rendez-vous s’est imposé comme le plus grand festival de la
chanson au monde. Chanteuses mais surtout chanteurs de charme,
San Remo était un tremplin pour se faire connaître ; et faire
connaître également des chansons que les Italiens et les
touristes allaient fredonner pendant toute la belle saison.
« Star Ac » à l’italienne et autres émissions de variété
télévisées, vidéo de chansons récentes ou anciennes à visionner
gratuitement sur internet : les moyens de diffusion se sont
multipliés pour les chansons. Mais ils n’ont pas tué le festival
de San Remo.
Adriano Celentano gagne en 1961 avec 24.000 baci (24.000 baisers)
; en 1964, la jeune Gigliola Cinquetti est lancée avec Non ho l’eta
(Je n’ai pas l’âge) ; en 1967, Luigi Tenco se suicide parce que
sa chanson Ciao amore ciao n’est pas sélectionnée en finale.
L’édition 2010, elle, est déjà nourrie d’une petite polémique :
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy devait venir chanter, hors compétition, en
duo avec Gino Paoli, un chanteur très réputé en Italie. Mais la
femme du président français a annulé sa participation. Même si
elle a démenti, la rumeur dit que la femme du président français
n’aurait pas apprécié la présence d’un autre chanteur italien au
festival 2010 de San Remo : Simone Cristicchi. Ce n’est pas le
vainqueur 2007 du festival qui poserait problème à la première
Dame de France mais une chanson impertinente concernant le
couple Sarkozy que Cristicchi a l’intention de chanter à San
Remo.
Rituel plus que cinquantenaire, le festival de la chanson de San
Remo est aussi un reflet de la société italienne. Cette année,
des candidats vont chanter dans des langues régionales. Et puis
Emmanuel Philibert de Savoie, prince héritier du trône d’Italie,
concourt avec une chanson patriotique Italia amore mio (Italie
mon amour).
La RAI, la télévision publique italienne, a pris possession du
festival de la chanson de la station balnéaire. Et avec raison :
l’année dernière, les retransmissions ont capté la moitié de
l’audience italienne. Cette année encore, les Italiens en mal de
soleil et de vacances seront certainement à l’affût d’une belle
nouveauté qu’ils pourront chantonner à tout moment de la journée.

EFE. Roma. La sexagésima edición del Festival
de la Canción de Sanremo arranca hoy con la participación, entre
otros, de Povia y su canción "La verità", y de la cantante
escocesa Susan Boyle como invitada estrella de la gala, en la
que será su primera exhibición en Italia.
Povia llega al Festival de la ciudad de la Costa Azul italiana
precedido por la polémica con un tema que defiende la eutanasia
y con el que ha querido recordar a Eluana Englaro, la joven en
estado de coma irreversible que falleció hace un año después de
que el Tribunal Supremo autorizara la desconexión de la sonda
que la alimentaba.
Se trata de una situación que recuerda a la anterior edición del
Festival, cuando Povia ya levantó un importante revuelo con su
canción "Luca era gay", en la que aseguraba que la
homosexualidad es una "enfermedad con cura" y que puso en pie de
guerra a los colectivos homosexuales italianos que exigieron su
expulsión.
Por otro lado, Boyle, que saltó a la fama mundial tras su
participación en el concurso de televisión "Britain's got
talent" (El Reino Unido tiene talento), subirá al escenario del
emblemático Teatro Ariston de Sanremo como invitada de excepción.
Una invitación querida por la presentadora del concurso,
Antonella Clerici, quien aseguró que la intérprete "representa
la realidad de una mujer, que aunque poco agraciada físicamente,
posee una voz extraordinaria que ha encantado al mundo".
Otra de las estrellas de la noche será la conocida "stripper"
estadounidense Dita von Teese, ex compañera del excéntrico
cantante Marilyn Manson, que pondrá la guinda final a la gala
con una de sus particulares exhibiciones.
Mientras, el mundo del deporte estará representado por el
futbolista Antonio Cassano, que militó en el Real Madrid durante
casi dos temporadas.
La apertura de la gala correrá a cargo de Irene Grandi con el
tema "La cometa de Halley", que precederá a otro de los grandes
nombres de la música italiana y clásicos del Festival, Toto
Cutugno, que interpretará "Aeroplani".
El acto de esta noche contará además con las actuaciones del
príncipe Manuel Filiberto de Saboya, nieto del último rey de
Italia, que cantará "Italia, amore mio" y la del grupo Sonohra,
formado por Luca y Diego Fainello, que en 2008 fueron ya ganaron
en la categoría de Mejor artista revelación.
Todos ellos competirán por el premio de la categoría de músicos
consagrados de este certamen, que se prolongará hasta el próximo
sábado, mientras otras diez voces lo harán en la de nuevas
generaciones, un espacio en el que se dieron a conocer, entre
otros, Eros Ramazzotti y Laura Pausini.

Als Anfang der 1950er-Jahre Blumenhändler
Amilcare Rambaldi und Casinobesitzer Pier Busseti die Idee
hatten, das beschauliche Städtchen San Remo an der italienischen
Riviera durch ein Musikfestival bekannter zu machen, hätten sie
sich wohl nicht träumen lassen, dass daraus einmal das
wichtigste Fernsehereignis des Landes werden würde. 60 Jahre
später lockt das mehrtägige San-Remo-Festival noch immer
zwischen 11 und 13 Millionen Zuschauer vor die Bildschirme und
erreicht Marktanteile von weit über 50 Prozent. Kein Wunder,
geben sich doch beim Jubiläum italienische und internationale
Stars die Klinke in die Hand. Auch die Herzen von ESC-Fans
dürften höher schlagen beim diesjährigen Künstler-Aufgebot: Mit
Toto Cutugno und Enrico Ruggeri sind auch zwei
Eurovisions-Veteranen vertreten. Doch was ist das Geheimnis von
San Remo?
Schaffung einer nationalen Musiksprache
In einem Land wie Italien, in dem 1950 nicht einmal ein Fünftel
der Bevölkerung die offizielle Landessprache beherrschte und
ausschließlich Dialekt sprach, besaßen Hörfunk und Fernsehen
eine wichtige Integrationsfunktion. Das San-Remo-Festival (oder
Festival della Canzone Italiana, wie es offiziell heißt) legte
den Grundstein für eine gesamtitalienische Unterhaltungskultur,
die erst in Entstehung begriffen war, und ist auf diese Weise
ebenso untrennbar mit der Geschichte des italienischen
Fernsehens wie mit der Geschichte der italienischen
Unterhaltungsmusik verbunden. Viele San-Remo-Beiträge der frühen
Jahre besitzen in Italien daher den Bekanntheitsgrad von
Volksliedern.
Stars und neue Talente
Wie auch der Eurovision Song Contest war das Festival della
Canzone Italiana zunächst ein reiner Komponistenwettbewerb. Die
wachsende Beliebtheit der Veranstaltung rief bald die
Plattenfirmen auf den Plan, doch die ausrichtende Fernsehanstalt
RAI wollte lieber auf bekannte Künstler verzichten und den
Nachwuchs fördern. Man fand eine Einigung, und bis heute treten
beim San-Remo-Festival die etablierten Künstler, die "Big", und
die Newcomer, die "Giovani", in gesonderten Kategorien an. Nach
und nach wurden weitere Preise für den besten Text und die beste
Komposition sowie ein Kritikerpreis eingeführt, um dem
kommerziellen Aspekt der Veranstaltung eine qualitative
Komponente entgegenzusetzen.
Kommerz und Zensur
Der Interessenkonflikt zwischen Fernsehanstalt und
Musikindustrie schwelte jedoch weiter. Zwar durften die
Plattenfirmen nun direkt bestimmen, welche Interpreten sie ins
Rennen schickten, doch im Auftrag der RAI wachte die
'commissione d’ascolto' (Ausschuss zur Kontrolle von
Medieninhalten) darüber, dass Titel mit anstößigen,
gotteslästerlichen oder politischen Texten umgeschrieben oder
von der Finalteilnahme ausgeschlossen wurden. Den kommerziellen
Erfolg der Veranstaltung beeinträchtigte dies allerdings nicht.
Zeitweise setzte sich die nationale Jahreshitparade zu 20
Prozent aus Festivalbeiträgen zusammen. Bis heute vergeht kaum
ein Jahr, in dem nicht mindestens ein San-Remo-Titel die Top 20
der Jahrescharts erreicht.
Internationales Ansehen
Mit Domenico Modugno und seinem Titel "Nel blu dipinto di blu"
("Volare") gelang dem Festival der erste von zahllosen
internationalen Erfolgen. Diese zogen mehr und mehr ausländische
Stars nach San Remo (von Stevie Wonder bis Louis Armstrong), was
der Veranstaltung zusätzliches Prestige verlieh und sie bis in
die USA bekannt machte. Viele Titel wurden im Ausland nicht nur
zu Hits, sondern auch von Stars wie Pat Boone ("Quando, Quando,
Quando") oder Tom Jones ("Gli occhi miei/Help yourself")
gecovert. Adriano Celentano, Milva, Eros Ramazotti, Laura
Pausini und Andrea Bocelli - sie alle wurden durch das
San-Remo-Festival entdeckt und zu internationalen Stars. Das
erfolgreiche Konzept wurde vielfach kopiert, unter anderem in
Kroatien (Festival Opatija) und Albanien (Festivali i Këngës).
San Remo heute
Nach einer Durststrecke in den 1970er Jahren erlebte die Show in
den 1980er Jahren ein strahlendes Comeback und gilt bis heute
als wichtigste Talentschmiede Italiens. Der enorme Aufwand, der
rund um das Ereignis betrieben wird, rechtfertigt sich
mittlerweile alleine schon durch die lukrativen Werbeinseln, die
in etwa alle 20 Minuten die Übertragung unterbrechen. Trotz
privater Konkurrenz bleibt San-Remo-Festival auch im 21.
Jahrhundert die bedeutendste Sendung im italienischen Fernsehen,
denn, so der Slogan der Veranstalter, "San Remo ist… San Remo!"

A San Remo, la chanson n'est plus ce
qu'elle était
A San Remo, la RAI est chez elle. Ses
camions-régies encombrent les abords du théâtre Ariston, via
Matteotti, où, le 16 février, débutera, pour cinq soirées, le
60e Festival de la chanson italienne. Derniers réglages sur la
scène où courent les câbles. Techniciens affairés. Producteurs
débordés. Attachées de presse stressées. Sur le trottoir, des
badauds tentent d'apercevoir une vedette venue répéter, un
animateur. Mais il y a plus de monde pour voir Avatar dans le
cinéma voisin.
Né en 1950 comme une animation de casino et devenu une pièce du
patrimoine italien - mais aussi le plus gros festival de la
chanson au monde -, il est donné pour mort chaque année. L'avis
de décès attendra. En 2009, la RAI a resigné un contrat de 9
millions d'euros par an sur trois ans avec la ville de la côte
ligure. Cette télévision publique mise encore sur cette
compétition honnie des intellectuels mais adulée du grand public
pour doper ses audiences. "Le festival est un morceau de notre
histoire, assure Gianmarco Mazzi, son directeur artistique. Une
tradition qui se transmet de génération en génération."
Comme tout le monde, il fait semblant de croire qu'il s'agit
encore d'une compétition entre les meilleurs interprètes d'Italie,
plus une autre pour les "découvertes". On entretient le mythe
comme on lustre l'argenterie dans les grands hôtels du front de
mer. Le mythe de la gloire : Domenico Modugno, vainqueur en 1958
avec Nel blu dipinto di blu, le grand Adriano Celentano qui, en
1961, fait scandale en interprétant 24 000 baci dos au public,
Gigliola Cinquetti, l'adolescente lancée en 1964 avec Non ho l'eta,
Laura Pausini lauréate de la catégorie "découverte" en 1993 avec
La Solitudine ont ensuite connu une consécration internationale.
Le mythe de la chute : Luigi Tenco, suicidé en 1967 dans une
chambre du Savoy parce que sa chanson Ciao amore ciao n'était
pas sélectionnée en finale.
Qui est encore prêt à se donner la mort à San Remo ? Les
angoissés ne sont plus les interprètes mais les patrons de la
RAI et l'animateur. Cette année, Antonella Clerici joue gros.
Les audiences de 2009 ont été bonnes : près de 50 % de parts de
marché, de quoi négocier les 30 secondes de publicité entre 150
000 et 185 000 euros. La presse s'interroge : son style "femme
au foyer" fera-t-il aussi bien que l'ironie décalée de Paolo
Bonolis l'année dernière ?
La bataille de l'audience, qui a presque éclipsé celle des
chanteurs, a commencé tôt. Pour attirer le public, rien de tel
que les polémiques - et le cru 2010 est exceptionnel. Fallait-il
autoriser à concourir les chansons en langues régionales ? Une
semaine d'étripage sur le thème de l'unité nationale. Puis est
venue l'"affaire Carla Bruni-Sarkozy". La femme du président de
la République française aurait donné son accord pour venir à San
Remo et se serait désistée après avoir su qu'une chanson en
concours, de Simone Cristicchi, la prenait pour cible. Une autre
semaine de perfidies sur cette "première dame de France devenue
bêcheuse".
La présence du prince Emmanuel Philibert de Savoie, héritier du
trône d'Italie, en compétition avec une chanson patriotique,
Italia amore mio, a réveillé les blessures liées à l'exil de la
famille royale. Enfin est arrivée l'"affaire Morgan". Chanteur
provocant, il a confessé avoir soigné sa dépression au crack et
à la cocaïne. La RAI, puisant dans ses vertus morales, l'a privé
de concours sans renoncer à l'inviter, sachant que l'audience
sera au maximum.
"Le festival peine à tenir son rang, explique Marcello Giannetti,
auteur d'Arrêtez ce festival ! La crise du disque, la
concurrence de l'équivalent italien de la Star Academy lui ont
fait perdre de son lustre. Ce sont les à-côtés de la compétition
qui assurent l'audience." Les apparitions d'invités tels que
Gorbatchev en 1999 ou le boxeur Mike Tyson en 2005 sont plus
suivies par les téléspectateurs que les prestations des
chanteurs. "Il faut avoir le courage de se demander ce qui se
passerait sans le festival", dit Marcello Giannetti.
Autrefois rampe de lancement, San Remo est devenu le rendez-vous
des artistes d'une saison et des gloires sur le retour. Les
Tiziano Ferro, Jovanotti, Vasco Rossi, Ligabue - pointures de la
variété italienne - ne se risquent pas dans la compétition. La
proximité avec la télévision est devenue consanguinité en 2009,
quand Marco Carta, primé dans une émission de talent show l'année
précédente, a été élu vainqueur par le public.
De San Remo, il reste un décor. Choisi par Alessandro Zaccuri
pour son roman Infinita notte (éd. Mondadori), où se mêlent,
entre palaces et villas Liberty, journalistes, chanteurs et
mafieux russes. "San Remo est une petite ville qui s'enflamme
une semaine et où tout peut arriver. C'est un mythe finissant
qui reste fascinant."

El Festival de Sanremo cumple 60
años de canción italiana y polémicas
Algunos de los protagonistas de la música
italiana de hoy y de siempre (como es el caso de Toto Cutugno o
Irene Grandi) volverán a darse cita a partir de este martes en
el Teatro Ariston de Sanremo, la localidad costera del extremo
noroccidental del país que desde 1951 celebra lo que es ya una
fiesta de interés popular en el calendario de Italia.
Hasta el próximo sábado, quince artistas competirán por el
premio de la categoría de músicos consagrados, mientras que
otros diez lo harán en la de nuevas generaciones, un espacio que
se creó en los años ochenta del pasado siglo y del que salieron,
entre otros, Eros Ramazzotti y Laura Pausini.
A los concursantes se les unirá una larga lista de estrellas
internacionales como invitados especiales, entre los que destaca
la cantante estadounidense de ascendencia puertorriqueña
Jennifer López, quien durante años ha sido el nombre más buscado
por la organización del certamen para el cartel de Sanremo.
Pero más allá de los invitados especiales de este festival, el
asunto que más interés ha despertado en las últimas semanas en
torno al concurso ha sido la polémica sobre dos de los
participantes en la máxima categoría: Morgan, el excéntrico
co-presentador de la versión italiana del programa de
cazatalentos "X Factor", y Povia, aquél que pusiera en pie de
guerra a los homosexuales del país el año pasado.
El pasado 3 de febrero, la organización anunciaba la expulsión
de Morgan del certamen tras haber admitido en una revista que
consumía a menudo cocaína para superar una depresión, aunque hoy
mismo la presentadora de esta edición, Antonella Clerici,
aseguraba que el cantante estará "de algún modo" en el Teatro
Ariston.
Por su parte, Povia ya sabe bien lo que es ser protagonista de
una polémica en Sanremo, pues el año pasado los colectivos de
homosexuales exigieron su expulsión del concurso por su tema
"Luca era gay", en el que se defendía la tesis de que la
homosexualidad es una "enfermedad con cura".
En esta ocasión, el polémico artista vuelve a la carga con el
tema "La verità" ("La verdad"), en el que defiende la eutanasia
y con el que ha querido recordar a Eluana Englaro, la joven en
estado de coma que falleció hace ahora un año después de que el
Tribunal Supremo autorizara la desconexión de la sonda que la
alimentaba.
"'Luca era gay' me llevó tres años escribirla. 'La verdad' nació
en tres días, es muy extraño. No soy religioso, ni practicante,
pero soy creyente y me sale decir que alguien me ha ayudado a
escribirla...", comentaba Povia en una entrevista publicada a
principios de mes por la revista italiana "TV Sorrisi".
El propio padre de Eluana, Giuseppe Englaro, ha mostrado su
apoyo a la canción, mientras que la presentadora del festival,
que confiesa que es difícil pronunciar "juicios" sobre ella,
prefiere definirla como una "poesía de amor que una hija escribe
a sus padres".
Lejos de toda disquisición, la organización de Sanremo, de la
que ahora se encarga la cadena pública de televisión RAI, ha
preparado cinco noches de espectáculo musical en el que se
incluye una sesión de "leyendas" el jueves, en la que
participará Miguel Bosé, y otra de duetos el viernes, que
contará con el grupo Jarabe de Palo cantando con Fabrizio Moro,
uno de los aspirantes al premio.
Nombres como los de la reina Rania de Jordania, la bailarina
estadounidense Dita Von Teese o el grupo alemán Tokio Hotel
figuran también en la lista de invitados de un festival que
consiguió en la pasada edición recuperar el interés de la
audiencia televisiva de la RAI, tras unos años en horas bajas.
Un certamen que en otro tiempo servía para elegir el candidato
italiano al Festival de Eurovisión (Italia participó por última
vez en 1997) y que, con sesenta años a sus espaldas, busca una
nueva seña de identidad para la música del país como la que
supuso en su momento el "Nel blu dipinto di blu" que, en la voz
de Domenico Modugno, ganó en 1958. EFE

only former Eurovision participant joining the Sanremo festival.
The Italian singer participates in Sanremo for the 15th time in

San Remo: Beim Namen dieser Kleinstadt
kriegen Schlagerfans feuchte Ohren. Von "Volare" bis "Adesso tu"
-kaum ein Italo-Klassiker, der hier nicht gesungen wurde, viele
begleitet von Klatsch, Intrigen und politischen Skandalen. In
diesen Tagen feiert das berühmteste nationale Schlagerfest der
Welt den 60. Geburtstag.
1959 wollte es Radio Luxemburg wissen und veranstaltete in
Wiesbaden ein "Deutsches Schlagerfestival". Das teutonische
San-Remo-Remake war schnell vergessen. Deutsche können Autos -
Schlager können Italiener besser. Sie zeigen es der Welt seit 60
Jahren in San Remo, einer einst ruhigen Kleinstadt an der
Blumenriviera zwischen Genua und Nizza.
Jedes Jahr Ende Februar, Anfang März, noch bevor die ligurischen
Rosenzüchter vor ihren malerischen Villen die Saison eröffnen,
ist hier die Hölle los. Eine knappe Woche lang streitet eine
Expertenjury stellvertretend für Italien um den besten Schlager
des Landes. Die Einschaltquoten der RAI toppen selbst die Werte
deutscher Karnevalsprunksitzungen.
Lasst mich singen, ich bin Italiener!
"Lasciate mi cantare" schmetterte 1983 "L'Italiano" Toto
Cutugno, was bis heute die Hymne vieler Auslandsitaliener ist.
Drei Jahre zuvor hatte der lange mäßig bekannte Songwriter in
San Remo seinen Durchbruch geschafft - wie in den folgenden
Jahren Alice, Ricchi e Poveri, Al Bano und Romina Power und Eros
Ramazotti. Es war das zweite goldene Zeitalter des italienischen
Schlagers, das in vielem an die sagenumwobene Gründerzeit des
singenden San Remo anschloss.
Kleine Lieder, große Oper
Die 50er- und 60er-Jahre: Eine Zeit, in der Italien aussah wie
das blühende Leben, die Riviera zum Traumziel der Deutschen
wurde und San-Remo-Hits wie "Volare" selbst in den USA zu
Höhenflügen ansetzten.
Legendär ist die Konkurrenz zwischen Domenico Modugno und
Claudio Villa - beide mit vier gewonnenen Titeln uneinholbare
San-Remo-Rekordhalter. Der helltönende, leicht exzentrische
Tenor Villa, gewachsen als Alleinunterhalter in den Schänken von
Trastevere, hatte Belcanto-Schmelz in der Stimme; Modugno
schmachtete mit "Volare" und "Piove (ciao ciao bambina)"
erbittert dagegen an. 1962 sangen die Konkurrenten im Duett
"Addio Addio" und rührten das Publikum zu Tränen.
Um diese Zeit hielten schon neue Sounds aus den USA Einzug und
sorgten für Kontroversen. Ein Rockfestival wurde San Remo nie,
ein junger Mann namens Adriano Celentano aber sah mit Lederjacke
und Gitarre so cool aus, dass er gegen die internationalen
Stargäste von Louis Armstrong bis Francoise Hardy locker
anstinken konnte.
Das Ende der Unschuld
Populär ist San Remo auch heute noch, so sehr, dass Italien sich
den Eurovision Song Contest inzwischen schenkt. Cool ist es
nicht mehr. Aus den bunten Klatschblasen und Zickenblüten, die
von Anfang an hinter den Kulissen wuchsen, sind inzwischen
Skandale geworden, die fatal an das wirkliche Leben in Italien
erinnern.
2003 erschütterte Korruption die Harmonie: Die Finanzpolizei
Guardia di Finanza hatte enthüllt, dass die Teilnehmer dubiosen
Festival-Agenten 50.000 Euro hinblättern mussten, um in die
engere Wahl der ersten acht Bewerber - und damit ins Fernsehen -
zu kommen. Im vergangenen Jahr eroberte die Politik endgültig
die heile Schlagerwelt: Schauspieler Roberto Benigni wetterte
auf der Bühne gegen den Rechtsruck in den Medien, wobei er
Italien unter anderem wachsende Homophobie attestierte. Wenig
später intonierte die Sängerin Povia einen Song namens "Luca era
gay", die dümmliche Geschichte eines Schwulen, der nach einer
Liebesnacht mit einer Frau zum Hetero wird. Gut möglich, dass
auch die Geburtstagstorte 2010 die Geschmäcker spaltet.

Italian Punk Singer banned from
Italian Sanremo Festival for Admitting Crack Use

One of the Italy's top artists has been
dropped from the Sanremo melodic musical festival for admitting,
during an interview, that he used crack. Morgan, singer and
leader of Blue Vertigo, an alternative Italian punk band,
declared during an Interview to Max Magazine, that he preferred
crack over anti-depressant drugs.
“If I could have smoked crack instead of anti-depressant drugs,
I would have done better”.
“The interview was a trap,” Morgan later said.
But it was too late, Italian Minister for Relations between
Parliament and Low Chamber, Carlo Giovanardi, said he was
shocked from such a statement, and when it reached the political
stage for Morgan, he was banned from the music stage.
Mauro Masi, General Manager of the first Italian Channel Rai1,
followed by excluding Morgan from the competition.
“The Festival of Sanremo is a product for families and young
people. We cannot accept that anybody who wants to perform in
such event could announce they like to smoke crack.”
Morgan tried to step back but it was too late, Max Magazine
repsonded that the interview was regular and normal done and was
not a trap as Morgan said.
The artist can only accept that he will not be a participate at
Sanremo Festival 2010. Considering, maybe next time... he should
smoke camomile rather than crack.
The Festival della canzone italiana (in
English: Italian song festival) is a popular Italian song
contest running since 1951 and held annually from Teatro Ariston
in the city of Sanremo. Usually referred to as Festival di
Sanremo, or outside Italy as Sanremo Music Festival, it was the
inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest.
For some years (from 1953 to 1971, except for 1956) each song
was sung twice by two different interpreters (singer or band),
each one using an individual orchestral arrangement to
illustrate the meaning of the festival as a composers'
competition, not a singers' competition. During this era of the
festival, it was custom that one version of the song was
performed by a native Italian artist while the other version was
performed by an international guest artist. The festival has
been used as the way of choosing Italy's Eurovision entry from
1956 to 1966, in 1972 and 1997. The festival has also launched
the careers of many very famous italian singers, most notably
Andrea Bocelli, Giorgia, Mietta, Laura Pausini and Eros
Ramazzotti
The Festival is broadcast live on TV Rai Uno in Eurovision
Network since 1955. From 1951 to 1954 it was transmitted only on
radio RAI.
